REVIEW: Crashed by Dawn Robertson

Emily Taylor is a twenty-six year-old event planner who has made a career out of dating; with the majority of it ending up as a complete nightmare. She is driven, motivated, and rising to the top in her career…but not in her love life. However, a random car accident will change her life forever.

Avery Martin is a country boy stuck in the city working his dream job of being a fire fighter. Over the years he has given up a lot, including dating, to focus on his career. Responding to a car accident one day he becomes overly involved with the woman he is rescuing.

Will these two find love, or will amnesia cost them the future they might have had?

Hmm, where to start – there’s so much to say about this story. It was very sweet and had a natural feeling flow. It felt very authentic from the very beginning, complete with the occasional cheesy awkward moment. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters, especially Gran! The plot is somewhat predictable, but only to a point with a couple surprises thrown in.

My only complaint is the amnesia. I don’t know much about it, but amnesia being SO selective as to be limited to exactly one person seems a little weird. Her reaction to Jared also seems a little farfetched. Early on when she talks about him, he seems like an ok guy that just wasn’t there when she needed him, but now she acts like he was some abusive jerk or something. Don’t get me wrong, he definitely throws out some creepy stalkerific vibes, but it just doesn’t seem to match her panic level whenever she’s around him.

Overall, it was a very sweet, fun, compelling, and endearing read with an adorable ending to which I could even relate to some extent. I really can’t wait for the next book!

Bottom Line:

Pick up this awesome read if you want a romantic suspense that will hold you enthralled from start to finish!
