It’s primarily Wes’s story and it is scary, frustrating, and sad. Poor Kit loses so much and endures excruciating heartbreak. She ends up in a pretty dark place. This is definitely not a book to be read out of order and needs to be read when you are prepared to dive immediately into the next book (and not at midnight when you need to be functional the next morning…not that I did that or anything)...
