Please welcome Elena Dillon as she talks about the setting for Breathe . ***************************** A lot of people ask me why I chose Lafayette, Louisiana for the setting of Breathe. I’m a native Californian and I have never lived anywhere else. I am, however, a travel agent. I love to travel. I’ve been many places and I have always wondered what it would be like to live somewhere else. I find the South fascinating, the people, the atmosphere, the accents and, of course, the food. I think my fascination started with books like Gone with the Wind, To Kill a Mockingbird and Prince of Tides. The family and personal connections, the characters who said so much but so little at the same time, the humor, the sorrow and the love for the places they lived. I have only experienced that in books and movies. I have never seen that kind of love for home here where I live and it seems common in the South. Louisian...
