Or just start writing short stories or even in a journal… I would tell you to just write. Because that's all it is. Of course there's grammar, plot, characterization and a few other things. You can't even begin to think about those until you've written something down. Just start writing and see what comes out. Practice. Read. Write and live life. Stories come from observations, people you meet, things you see. Don't just sit back and observe, participate. Then write it all down. Journal, scribble, make a mark.
