INTERVIEW: CG Powell

Image
CG Powell is an author that I found through the grapevine, and she’s one of nicest authors I’ve met. She’s very involved in the writing community, traveling in circles that include Cait Lavender, Olivia Hardin, and Stephanie Nelson, among others. In fact they just recently released an anthology together called Once Upon a Midnight Dreary , having also previously done Cupid Painted Blind . I’ve had the pleasure of reading and reviewing two of her books, Immortal Voyage and Spell Checked and look forward to more. She’s been kind enough to take the time to answer a few questions for me, so read on to get a little insight into the mind of Ms. CG Powell! Have you always wanted to be an author? No, I really wanted to be a Geologist. I was inspired to write a little over a year ago and just ran with it. I don’t consider myself a writer, but a storyteller. What inspired the idea for the Terra Stellar series? I love the works of Marion Zimmer Bradley, and the way she meshed Sc...

Title:   Spell Checked Series:   No Uncertain Logic (Terra Stellar) Book #:  1 Author:   CG Powell Approximate Book Length:   307 Pages Recommended Reader Age:   18+ Sexual Content:   Moderate Thoughts: I thought this was a really neat story! Descendants of ancient aliens turning into witches and vampires is a cool concept. I liked the characters and the bonds they all forge. Having Helen’s soul inside Mae’s body and that being what drew Beck to her to begin with was an added complication that...

Recap: A long time ago, before the times our histories retell, there was a civilization like none other, a city of glass and metal in the middle of the ocean called Atlantis. It was home to a race of interstellar nomads – a race with secrets. Its culture collides with the native humanity and wreaks havoc as plays are made to maintain order as the lies are uncovered. Will the love that blooms among both peoples be enough to save them all? Title:   Immortal Voyage Series:   Terra Stellar Book #:  0 Author:   CG Powell Approximate Book Length:   172 Pages Recommended Reader Age:   18+ Sexual Content:   Moderate Thoughts: This book is very different from anything I’ve read to date. Set on Earth, it’s an Earth that is barely recognizable to what we’re familiar with as its set ages upon ages ago. We start off from a human’s point of view, but are quickly introduced to aliens and shown that there will be plenty of interaction as we fo...
