Buffy's Ramblings

Happy birthday to my baby boy!  He is a monster, but I love my little monster.  He's so tall at over 3.5 ft tall and over 40 lbs.  He's just learned to ride a two wheel bike.  He can be helpful, sweet, and adorable.  He's still a cuddle bug in the mornings and he sometimes even sleeps the entire night in his own room!  He loves to play in the sand and trail after his big sister.  His favorite food is waffles or mac and cheese.  He keeps life interesting.  Happy 4th birthday to my big guy!

Happy birthday to my baby girl!  She made me a mother and she's getting so big now!  She's over 4 feet tall and over 50 lbs.  She is helpful and independent.  She's able to take the dog outside by herself, go out and play by herself and see if friends can play.  Her favorite food lately is my cookie dough protein bars, though the girl adores ice cream too.  She's a good big sister and a natural born leader.  She's very creative and active.  She keeps me in check and inspires me every day.  She likes to make up stories too, so maybe she'll be a writer like her mama ;)  Happy 6th birthday to my big girl!

My baby boy is so big!  He's in preschool now and while he cried a few times, he's adjusted now and does really well.  He's getting so smart and big and loves to be a "big helper".  He's also frequently mistaken for 4 or 5 because of his height.  And this boy LOVES his sister so much.  The first week of school, he'd cry when Tara got on the bus because he missed her.  He's finally used to it and he RUNS for the bus stop in the afternoon to wait for her.  He's full of energy and independence, but is also such a cuddlebug.  Such a sweet little guy <3

My baby girl is 5 YEARS OLD!  Time flies.  Kindergarten and riding the bus.  She struggles, but she's also trying to be some kind of role model for her little brother.  She's smart and sweet and keeps life interesting.  She surprises me every day with how capable she is.  My little girl <3

My sweet boy turns TWO today! He's growing so fast that he's in 3T clothes and I actually have to remind myself that he's only two because he's so big. He adores his big sister and wants to follow her and do what she does almost all the time. He's full of energy and is very good at playing on a playground already. He would probably prefer to be outside ALL the time. He's a pretty cuddly little guy, even liking to cuddle with his sister on occasion. He loves to give her hugs. He's on the verge of climbing out of his crib, so that'll be interesting in the near future! He's starting to talk, especially when big sis helps get him to try saying words. It's adorable. My dear boy is a slice of fun in my life. I love him to the moon and back!

  Today my darling girl turns FOUR years old! My does time fly. She's no longer a toddler anymore, she's a little girl. She's getting a real personality and everything. She and her little brother play together more now. She and her cousin Chelsea who is about eight months older than her can play together all day with little drama. She can play with neighbor kids reliably and even play outside by herself sometimes. She will even ride her bike around the block by herself. The crazy thing to me is that she's even potty trained now! We're still working on nights, but that will come in time. She starts 5 day a week afternoon preschool in September. She's just growing up so fast. She's a shining star in my little piece of this world. I love her more than my own life! Happy birthday to my baby girl

My baby boy turns 1 year old today.  Time flies, holy crap!  He's been such a happy baby; he's all smiles.  His default volume setting is screech and he's a big ham even as a baby.  He adores his sister, even though she's 50/50 on him lol.  He has grown so fast: 6 month clothes at 2 months old, 9 month clothes at 5 months old, 12 month clothes (for two weeks) at about 9 months, and is currently in 18 month clothes.  He seems to have slowed down a little thankfully.  He LOVES food.  This kid is a little man on a mission when he sees food.  He's looking to be a climber and a little imp. He took his first steps today on his first birthday.  I just can't get over him.  Happy birthday to my little monster, my sweet V <3

Today my first born child turns 3 years old.  THREE!  How did that happen?  Where does the time go?  She was a very serious baby who was ALL about Mommy.  Then she finally crawled at 10 months old and walked at 16 months.  She didn't speak until she was nearly two and a half.  She's a giant Daddy's girl these days. She likes to help with her baby brother, she likes to snuggle with Mommy or Daddy at every opportunity, and she loves to play outside, usually with a ball and lately she's taken a strange sudden interest in hockey, then tell us all about her adventures.  She has shot up in the last 6 months and everybody mentions how tall she is now.  She still looks a lot like her dad, but there's definitely a little of me that shines through. THE BIRTH Today’s my birthday, so I thought it fitting that I post this today. WARNING: I will hold nothing back in this story, so it’ll be graphic. Oh the agony…of WAITING! My daughter came at 37 weeks and 6 days after my water broke. There was no question that the baby was coming. This was not the case with my son. I’d had contractions on and off for weeks – WEEKS! At one point, we were worried that he’d come before September even started, then nothing. He was due on September 22nd and my mother in law was staying with us to watch my daughter during the event from August 29th to September 26th. When nothing happened by a few days before the 26th, she changed her flight to October 2nd. On September 27th (40 weeks and 5 days), I felt a little nauseated during the afternoon, but otherwise completely normal. Miserable and anxious as hell (hoping I wouldn’t need to be induced). THE BIRTH Today’s my birthday, so I thought it fitting that I post this today. WARNING: I will hold nothing back in this story, so it’ll be long and graphic. On August 16th, I woke up at 4PM to watch a League of Legends tournament. I went out to the living room and sat down. I was still groggy from my nap, but I thought I felt weird. Couldn’t put my finger on it, but I felt weird. I was having a conversation with the hubby and right in the middle I noticed that I felt wet and squishy. I didn’t say anything to Greg; I just got up and went to the bathroom to look. There was some clear thin fluid. I was suspicious, but just changed my panty liner and made a mental note to keep an eye on it. I stood up and took three steps before I felt another little squish. I turned around and checked again and there was a little mucus in there too, but still it was more of that fluid. At that point, I called Greg in and told/showed him what was going on.
