INTERVIEW: Michelle Leighton

One of the first indie books I read was a story called Madly by M. Leighton, followed quickly by Madly and Wolfhardt . I loved the stories so much that I looked up the author and went all stalker, following her on all venues (Twitter, Facebook, Blog, etc). I was so fascinated, and when I was trying to explore the options for the path I’d put myself on as an author, I drew together my courage and reached out to her. I asked her a couple questions out of the blue hoping she didn’t totally give me the brushoff. Instead, I found that Michelle’s not only a great author with a spectacular imagination, but that she’s incredibly supportive, humble, sweet, and fun. She was so encouraging and open, and she’s really easy to talk to and get along with. Naturally, I had to feature her at some point and ask her a few more questions. Enjoy the wackiness :D Have you always wanted to be a writer? Do you write full time? I know it’s certainly not the typical answer, but I never for one ...

REVIEW: Madly & Wolfhardt by M. Leighton

Recap: Madly’s been informed that everything she holds dear is now in grave jeopardy. With so much at stake, the best she can do is take it all one step at a time, and the first danger to handle is Ulrich Wolfhardt, a man obsessed with wolves and a maiden he stalked through the woods prior to his incarceration. Once he was bitten by a wolf, his attachment to the maiden became an unnatural hunger, and the maiden’s grandmother cursed him. His vengeance is all that matters now. Madly must discern the identity of his descendant before they’re used to kill. Will she find the love her heart yearns for amid fighting the greatest foe she’s faced in her young life? Title:   Madly & Wolfhardt Series:   Madly Book #:  2 Author:   M. Leighton Approximate Book Length:   266 Pages Recommended Reader Age:   16+ Sexual Content:   Mild Thoughts: The only experience I’ve had with mermaids was Disney, until this story. REVIEW: Madly by M. Leighton

Recap: Madly James is an average seventeen year old, for a princess anyway. She hails from Atlas, a land deep in the water that is magically protected. She’s working as an intern in the small town of Slumber when news arrives that a traitor has set a bunch of fairy tale spirits known as Lore free to awaken their descendants. It’s up to Madly to save everyone she cares about and humanity herself. Her best friend and a sentinel, Jackson Hamilton, are the only help available to her, and Jackson could cost her everything even if he helps her “save the world”. She loves Jackson, always has, so she’ll fight for hope. Hope that she can have it all – family, love, and her destiny. Title:   Madly Series:   Madly Book #:  1 Author:   M. Leighton Approximate Book Length:   53 Pages Recommended Reader Age:   16+ Sexual Content:   Mild Thoughts: I thought this sounded like a good adventure and love story, so I gave it a shot, not really know...
