REVIEW: Home Improvement by Tara Lain
Summary:
Romance on Aisle Sixteen—opposites attract amid the hammers and screws of the home improvement store.
Gabe Mason became a father at seventeen, and his daughter, Ellie, is the most important thing in his life. But being the parent the courts demand means Gabe has given up most of his dreams—education, making furniture, a gay social life—to be a model dad with a steady, reliable job in a home improvement store. Life’s predictable until Jerry, a shy, eccentric guy in a hat and sunglasses, begs Gabe to oversee the renovation of his run-down mansion.
Gabe loves the house and the work, and Jerry's pretty lovable too, but when Gabe discovers Jerry’s secret identity, he fears their passion could overturn both their lives forever.

Thoughts:
I always love Tara Lain’s work so I dove into this book expecting to enjoy it. I did not expect to LOVE it. Every bit of this book great. There was only one truly bad character and thankfully we see very little of him. Ellie is beyond awesome. Her mom has her moments. Gabe is amazing. He’s a fantastic dad, very humble and caring, and a smart guy. Jerry is complex and endearingly cute. His solution when things hit the fan had me reacting the same way as Ellie. The love scenes were great and didn’t dominate the story; it was all about the buildup and plot. I was totally invested in the house renovations, especially knowing it’s a real place. I was absolutely glued to the page from start to finish.
Bottom Line:
Home Improvement was so good! Riveting, sweet, and fun, this just became a new favorite!
