I really enjoyed book 1, and was looking forward to this next chapter in Scout’s life. It was very different than I was expecting. The end of the last book left questions open, and instead of answering them in this book, we’re provided with a whole new set of challenges and questions early on.

I love the authenticity of Scout’s conflicting feelings towards Jase and Charlie and the difficulty with which she struggles to accept all that’s happened. I also absolutely love how sassy and brave she is, even in the face of danger or certain death. The one problem I did have with Scout was that she’s really very smart, but there were some blaring questions that I feel she should have recognized as either needing an answer or that the answer was fairly obvious.

Overall the story really felt transitional in the big picture. There were few resolutions, changes to Scout’s life that make going back to a normal life impossible, and so much trouble that Fate Succumbs (book 3) is going to be a doozy! It’s actually a very emotional read.

In Conclusion:

Don’t miss out on the heartbreaking sequel to Destiny Binds that promises to throw you into the fray of Shifter politics and leave you itching for the conclusion in the Timber Wolves Trilogy to find out how Scout gets herself and her loved ones out of a mess so deep no one ever saw it coming.
